Dona Lorraine Britton (nee Robison), age 90 passed away peacefully Thursday, May 16 after a brief illness at the Vines at Countryside, with her daughter Sue by her side. During the latter 15 years of her life, she experienced a gradual decline due to Alzheimer's disease, but her hazel eyes still sparkled and her smile brought warmth to any room.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony (Tony) S. Britton, cherished mother and mother-in-law of Susan and Eddie Opitz of Mt. Prospect, IL, loving daughter of the late Ione M. and William H. Robison, and dear step-mother of Chris Anne Ball, Lakewood, CO.  Dona was also preceded in death by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and is survived by an extended family in Iowa.

Born on November 15, 1922 in Eldon Iowa, Dona moved with her parents several times residing primarily in Iowa and Texas.  She proudly served as a WAVE in the Navy in WWII, but was honorably discharged soon after enlisting to care for her sick mother.  Being a true patriot, she continued supporting the US war efforts by working at the Rock Island Arsenal.
