Norma H. Brinkley, 74 of Elgin passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Advocate Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born January 26, 1940 in Dayton, Kentucky the daughter of Frederick and Norma Brammer Smith Sr. She had been a resident of Elgin for most of her life and was a graduate of Elgin High School in 1958.
She was a charter member of Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Elgin. She was a life member and Past President of the Women’s Auxiliary Post 1307.
Surviving are her 3 children, Toni (Michael) Barkey of Genoa, Chris (Mary) Brinkley of Carpentersville and Dr. Jason (Elizabeth) Brinkley of Poplar Grove, 5 grandchildren, Brandon Zange, Alexandra and Cassandra Barkey, Jacob and Tyler Brinkley, 2 great grandchildren, Jada Zange and Adyson Lampard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles W. Brinkley on, March 16, 2008, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will Tuesday, September 30 at 10:00 A.M. at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, 12N462 Tina Trail, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, Elgin and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services in the church. www.lairdfamilyfuneralservices.com or 847-742-2100.
