Charles E. Koehler

Charles E. Koehler, 89, of Elgin, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Sherman West of Elgin. Charlie was born November 27, 1925 in Elgin, the son of Ernest and Esther (Giertz) Koehler. He had been a long time resident of Elgin and a graduate of Elgin High school. He served In the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) and was a Veteran of WWII. He was employed by Stolt & Egner for many years as a master carpenter before retiring in 1987. Charlie is member of both the First Presbyterian Church of Elgin and the American Legion. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband and family man spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Charlie is by survived his wife, Shirley and his three children, Jodi Pamintuan, Julie Engelking (Steve) and Mike Dusek (Julie) and six granddaughters (Breanne (Ben), Beth, Brooke, Paige, Carleigh and Charlie). Survivors also include his sister, Adria Stoll and his nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2105 at 6:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Elgin, 240 Standish Street, Elgin, IL 60123.
