Yam Chiu Leung, 83, (based on Chinese custom) of Algonquin, IL entered into eternal peace March 9, 2016 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. An intimate family gathering took place on Saturday, March 12, 2016 to celebrate his life.

Yam was born in Canton, China on June 14, 1934. He went to the University of Taiwan and then State University of Kansas-Lawrence with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked at large aerospace companies such as Lockhead Martin and then Hamilton Sundstrand from 25 years and retired in the year 2000. He enjoyed his workshop, tinkering with inventions and home improvement projects.

Yam is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Benetta Leung, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Yam is survived by his second wife, Sillive Leung, of Algonquin, 2 sons, Vincent (Ivy) and Phil (Sarah) and a daughter, Felicia (Nick), 4 grandchildren, Philip, Lauren, Samantha and newborn, Cecilia.
