William L. Burg Jr.

William L. Burg, Jr., 64 of Algonquin, passed away on September 26, 2016. Born in Kansas City, MO on January 12, 1952, the first born child to William L. Burg, Sr. and M. Marie (Hinton) Burg. “Billy” to his family and “Bill” to his friends, he graduated from Benet Academy in Lisle, IL in 1970 and earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from DePaul University in 1974 and 1978. He worked for Ingersoll Rand for more than 20 years throughout the 1980s and ‘90s, and loved spending time with his kids and going to the movies. In 2009 he met Kathleen Mandrell and the two were married on July 20, 2013. Bill belonged to St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church in Algonquin, IL where he was an active volunteer and a Fourth Degree Knight in the fraternal order of the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his warm, friendly personality and unique sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his children Nicole Burg and Phillip Burg; his step-children Michael (James) Faltum, Miranda (Dan) Avila, Angelina (Dan) Huntsha, and Louis Reynoso; his siblings Kathryn Kulungowski, Patrick Burg, Thomas J. Burg, and Dr. Carol Burg; and many nieces and nephews around the country from Chicago to Michigan to South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father Bill Sr., his mother Marie, and his sister Rita M. Burg. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning in the church from 10:30 A.M. until the time of mass.
