William F. Rossmann Jr.

William F. Rossmann, Jr., 73, a longtime resident of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home. Bill was born September 30, 1943 in Chicago. Raised in Wadsworth, and graduated from Zion-Benton H.S. in 1961. He married his H.S. sweetheart, Sandra on September 22, 1962. Bill was an Auto Mechanic for over 50 years and worked for T.C. Transportation in Crystal Lake for most of them. Bill had a love for the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. He enjoyed cars, guns, rock collecting and just building anything. He loved history and collecting antiques with his late wife Sandra, until her passing in July 2007 of Huntington’s Disease. And his favorite pastime was with his grandchildren. Devoted husband to his love, the late Sandra (Swanson); Son of the late William F Rossmann Sr. and Mary (Chalupnik); Step son of Patricia (Umek); Brother of Chuck (Sharyn), Susan Ehrhardt, Jane Soderquist (Jeff), Dan; Step-brother of Duff (Karen), and the late Pamela Thompson; Half-brother of Mary Walldan (Joey), Patrick (Kimberlee), and Amy. Father of Brian, Kelly Braun (Wayne) and the late Kevin. Grandfather of Cal Clinge and Cailynn Clinge; Step-grandfather of Amber Veronese (Joe) and Aaron Braun. Great-grandfather of Myles Joseph; And Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, HDSA/Illinois Chapter “Memorial/Tribute”, P.O. Box 8383, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 201 Main St, Algonquin, IL.
