Marilyn June Ciaccio

Marilyn June Ciaccio was born in Elgin, IL on July 14, 1930. She went home to meet her Father on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in her Elgin home, surrounded by loved ones. She loved all holidays, but especially Christmas. She was able to enjoy being in her home, experiencing Christmas with the Christmas tree, music, and spirit.
Marilyn had a blessed and full life, surrounded always with love and laughter, provided by the many family members, friends and acquaintances. Whomever met Marilyn, she left a mark on their lives. She was selfless in her thoughts, words, and deeds, always making everyone feel important and loved. She always had a warm smile for everyone she met.
She was born to Nelson and Emily Clute on July 14, 1930 in Elgin IL. She was a life-long resident of Elgin. She married Sam Ciaccio in December, 1948, and just recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Marilyn spent many wonderful years, working at the Cubbyhole on Main Street in West Dundee, greeting warmly everyone who walked through the door. She volunteered throughout her life. She was a member of Cornerstone Methodist Church in Plato Center, IL. She loved flowers and gardening, sitting in her backyard, and her hobby, when asked, was her family. She loved her family fiercely.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Sam, her son, Steve Ciaccio (Debi) of Elgin, her daughter, Nan Strohmaier (Larry) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her daughter, Tami Pasholk (John) of South Elgin. Marilyn has ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She has two dear sisters surviving, Elaine Ostdick of South Elgin and Sandra Clute of Elgin, a sister-in-law, Barb Clute of Elgin, and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Debbie, her parents, and two brothers, Dick and Duane Clute.
Visitation for Marilyn will be at Laird Funeral Home of Elgin on Tuesday, December 12th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with services immediately following. Memorials can be made to Cornerstone Methodist Church of Plato Center or JourneyCare Hospice of Barrington.
