Warren E. Carbary of Elgin Warren E. Carbary, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at his home with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Elgin, and was the son of George D. and Lillian Carbary. He had been a resident of Elgin most of his life. He graduated from Northwestern Military & Naval Academy in 1938, Harvard University in 1942, and the University of Michigan Law School in 1948. He practiced law in Elgin for 49 years before retiring in 1998. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a sergeant in the Army Air Corps as a cryptographer for a B-24 Bomber Squadron in the Pacific Theatre. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Robert) Leon of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; two sons, Jonathan (Janice) Carbary of Elgin and Warren V. Carbary of Florida; four grandchildren, Alicia, Nicole, Dana and J.R.; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, whom he married in 1946 and his parents. Visitation will be at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin on Thursday, July 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patricia Lindguist officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association . For information, 847-741-8800
