Alice F. Bolger

Alice F. Bolger, 100 of Elgin passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in her home. She was born October 8, 1910 in Woodstock, Ill. the daughter of Edward and Gertrude McCarthy Field. She attended St. Mary Catholic Grade School in Woodstock and was a member of the first graduating class of St. Mary Catholic High School, Woodstock.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Rosary College in River Forest. She taught at Streamwood Elementary School for 13 years before retiring.

She was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin.
She volunteered at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin for over 20 years.
She was very active with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra league for many years.


Surviving are 2 children, John D. (Jane) Bolger of Woodstock and
Mary Barbara (Eric) Anderson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.,
2 grandchildren, John D. (Marna) Bolger of Chicago and
Anne (John) Bulger of Huntley.
2 great grandsons-Aidan Luke Bulger, Evan Bolger

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Bolger, 1 brother, Oliver F. Field and a sister Mary Jane Field.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 19 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Woodstock. Visitation will be held on
Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of mass in the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Provena Hospice. www.lairdfamilyfuneralservices.com or 847-741-8800.
