Charles A. Breslich

Charles A. Breslich, 85, died December 13, 2011 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Charles was born March 11, 1926 to Richard and Mabel Breslich in Elgin, Illinois. He was a life-long resident of Elgin and attended Elgin High School. Chuck was a proud veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army.

Chuck was a buyer for Ace Coffee Bar located in Elgin for over 38 years. After retiring from Ace he started a second career at Marengo Ridge Golf Course where he worked and played for over 14 years. He was an avid golfer and loved traveling the Midwest states playing golf with his wife Flora. He was always in quest of his 3rd Hole-in-One. Chuck also decided to take up down hill skiing and long distance bicycling but only after he had triple by pass heart surgery in 1987.

Surviving are his beloved wife Flora, his loving children, Sandra (Tim) Towle of Bonita Springs, Fl., Greg (Linda) Breslich of Bradenton, Fl., Steve (Sheila Caza) Breslich of Delavan, Wi. He was the proud Grandfather of Brian, Kate, Corey, Tara, Grady, Nathan, Clay and Great Grandfather of Nicole, Danny, Cade, McKenzie, and Joseph Charles. His dear brother and sisters: Richard L. (Jean) Breslich of Elgin, Il., Phyllis (Bill) Farmer of Sabastian, Fl., and Elizabeth McLauchlan of South Elgin, Il.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Eleanor Lange, Lucille Bitzer, Charlotte Minnich and Laura Irvine.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. followed by services at 4:00 P.M. at Laird Funeral Home 310 S. State St., Elgin.
