Miguel Angel Aragon

Miguel Angel Aragon, 62, of Elgin, IL passed away on Friday January 6, 2011. He was born on December 12, 1949 in Mexico, the son of Manuel and Isabel (Romero) Aragon. Miguel was a Surgical Technician with Associates in Orthopedics Surgery for 27 years. Currently he was employed at Sherman Hospital as a Surgical Technician. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who truly cared about people. Miguel will be deeply missed, and always remembered.
He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Elgin, serving as an usher, and Eucharistic Minister. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a Custodian of the Ambassadors of Mary.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Veronica (Malanchuk), whom he married on November 10, 1979. Two loving daughters: Erica (Ricardo) Bonilla and Elizabeth Aragon. Two dear grandchildren: Axel Miguel and Galilea. His mother, Isabel Aragon of El Paso, TX, 3 brothers: Gabriel, Juan, and Enrique; 4 sisters: Josefina, Guadalupe, Geralda and Maria, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Francisco and Manuel, also a sister, Isabel.
Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Monday from 4-9:00 P.M. at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the mass. Memorials may be made to Ambassadors of Mary, the Knights of Columbus of Elgin, St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Special Olympics.
