Ruth N. Bruening, 92 of Elgin passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Vines at Countryside, Elgin. She was born January 12, 1920 in Dundee the daughter of Walter and Amanda Schultz. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother. She had been a resident of the Dundee and Elgin area all of her life. She was employed by Bond’s Drug Store, Dundee, was a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone, Dundee and then was treasurer of Triangle Plumbing & Heating Inc. before retiring.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Elgin

Surviving are her daughter, Ruth (James) Moulton of Huntley,
2 grandchildren, Rachel (Clayton) Bunting and Lauren (William) Marshall
And a great grandson, Grady James Bunting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John W. Bruening on Feb. 3, 1997, 2 sisters, Norma Richardson, Naomi Drinkall and 2 brothers, Paul and Marvin Schultz.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, February 18 at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
