Ruby Mae Behrens

Ruby Mae Behrens, (nee Legel) 92, lifelong resident of Crystal Lake passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Crossroads Care Center in Woodstock. She was born September 11, 1919 in Mt. Carroll, IL the daughter of George and Anna Eibisch Legel.
Ruby’s family made their home in Crystal Lake where she attended school, graduating from Crystal Lake Community High School with the class of 1937. She was a lifelong member of the 1st Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, former member of the Ladies Fire Auxiliary in Crystal Lake. She had worked for Jewel Foods and Serv-All Tool & Die. Ruby enjoyed playing cards and bingo and enjoyed the summer days at the main beach at Crystal Lake. She was a lifelong die hard cub fan and a Minnesota Vikings fan.

She is survived by her loving sons, Thomas W. (Jean) and Robert W Jr. (Elizabeth) Behrens all of Crystal Lake and daughter in-law Cynthia, her cherished grand children, David, Donald (Kim), Jennifer (Glenn) Korhorn, Jeffrey, Ronald (Michelle), Randy, Timothy, Victoria, Thomas (Kathy), and Brianne Behrens, loving great grandchildren, Jacob and Jared Behrens, Nick, Allie, and Shea Behrens, Trevor and Tyler Korhorn, Paige, Emma and Lilly Behrens her sister in laws, Ardelle Legel, Anneliese Legel and Drucilla Gervais and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert W. Behrens to whom she was united in marriage to on April 20, 1946, her son, James Robert Behrens and her sisters Elizabeth Inger, Beatrice McDonald and her twin sister Ruth Rehberg her brothers, Lawrence, Delbert, Raymond, Robert and Harold Legel.
Funeral services and interment will be private. Arrangements were made by Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel in Algonquin.
