Arthur P. Petschow, 86 of South Elgin, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Proven St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born in Elgin on October 11, 1925 the son of Paul and Ida Petschow.
Arthur was an Elgin and South Elgin resident all of his life, he served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the America Legion Post 57. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elgin as well as the Elgin Moose Lodge 799. He loved playing golf, bowling and was an avid Cubs fan, so hoping they would win the World Series, but most of all, Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandson play football and baseball.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, LaVerne (Pope) Petschow.

Grandchildren – Victoria, Brenden, Morgan and Jenna
Brother – Charles (Carol) Petschow

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jack & Milton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. Burial will follow in Bluff City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the chapel. Memorials may be given in his name to the American Cancer Society.
