Ole was born in Elgin, Illinois on March 29, 1938 and passed away in Summerfield, Florida on January 21, 2017 at age 78. He left behind his wife of 57 years, Tiny (Marlene Abbott) Olson and his son Mark (Oly) and Mark’s wife JoAnn Olson of Apollo Beach, Florida.
Ole was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, and was thrilled with his World Series Champs this year. He treasured his friends (“The Guys”), and loved playing and managing with the Stonecrest community’s golf leagues and softball clubs for many years. He also enjoyed following college basketball.
Ole was full of personality, making his living as a food purveyor in Illinois, Colorado and California. After retirement, he and Tiny enjoyed their antique business, with multiple booths in nearby Central Florida outlets.
Tiny (Marlene) has recently relocated to a new activity-filled complex close to her son’s home.
A casual Memorial Service for friends will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 2PM to 4PM at the Stonecrest Community Center. Please join the family for an informal appetizer buffet as a farewell tribute to Ole.
His son can be contacted at email@example.com.
