William J. Wojtkiewicz, 87, of Elgin passed away on April 28, 2017. He was born on June 13, 1929 in Chicago the son of William and Agnes Wojtkiewicz. He was employed by Bell & Gossett in Morton Grove as a machinest before retiring. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed Arlington Park Track, The Grand Victoria Casino. He was an avid swimmer, loved sports including boxing and the Chicago Bears. He loved to travel on vacation and going on cruises.

He attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin.

He is survived by his 4 children: William (Diane) Jr.; Mark (Maggie Johnson); David (Nancy); Darlene (Jerry) Fett. 6 grandchildren: Michael (Tara), Debra (Paul), Karen (Kevin), David Jr., Jeri and Mark (Louie); along with 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Victoria Wojtkiewicz, a brother Anthony and a sister, Genevieve Stawinski

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 2 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Visitation will be on Monday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday at the church from 9:15 AM until the mass.
