James E. Lehman of Elgin passed away peacefully on July 14, 2018 after a long battle with cancer as well as countless battles with other ailments. James was born in Woodstock, IL on March 20, 1936 to Alma and William Lehman. He moved to the West Coast as a teenager, finished high school, and attended the University of Nevada in Reno. After joining the Naval Reserves, he made his way back to Illinois where he took a job with United that lasted 40 years. James and his wife Kathryn Torvick Lehman have been residents of Elgin for their 44 year marriage. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed traveling, eating delicious food, and spending time with his family. Jim is survived by his wife Kathryn and two daughters, Jeanette Tobin and Ann (Matt) Harren along with four grandchildren: Eliana Tobin, Mateo Tobin, Zachary Harren, and Alex Harren. He is also survived by many loving brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings: William Lehman, Michael Lehman, Londa Lehman, and Rhonda Fuegos.
