Robert “Bob” L. Pleticha Jr., 76, resident of Elgin, passed away on Thursday September 27, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL. He was born on June 1, 1942 (the year everyone wanted to know), the son of Robert and Mary Tenney Pleticha Sr. Bob was a Veteran, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Some of his other life time achievements include being an intercollegiate, national & international powerlifting champion, being inducted into Judson University Sports Hall of Fame in 2016, as well as, Elgin Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

Bob was a fierce competitor and appeared to have a tough exterior, but those that were close to him learned that he had a softer, gentler side that he demonstrated through his love of nature and nurturing animals.
