Rebecca Sue Kehoe

 On January 25, 2019, Rebecca Sue (Richman) Kehoe of Elgin, Illinois, passed away. She left this world the way she wanted to, peacefully and with her loving family by her side. Rebecca was born in Sioux City, Iowa, yet was raised in Freeport, Illinois, with her sister Janice and brother, Ronald. While working for a photographer, she met Gerald Kehoe. They were later married on July 18, 1959. They had two daughters together, Susan Beth and Laura Jeanne, as well as a son who passed away in his infancy. Rebecca was a proud Freeport Pretzel, graduating in 1958, and after raising her children, she worked throughout most of her career as an executive secretary. She had a lifelong interest in music, playing guitar and singing backup in the Chapter III folk-singing group and was later a member of a barbershop group
Throughout much of her adult life she lived in Elgin, Illinois, and St. Charles, Illinois. Rebecca was very adventurous, traveling frequently to Acapulco, Mexico, as well as on several cruises. She was entranced by quiz shows such as Jeopardy and was an avid Words with Friends player. She was even the champion of a local quiz show. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Gerald; daughters, Susan (Steven) Jarrette and Laura (Jeffrey) Tucker; sister, Janice (Richman) Alexander; brother, Ronald Richman; grandchildren, Katherine (Jared) Swiecicki, John Jarrette, Michael Tucker, and Elizabeth Tucker; and great grandchildren Ike Swiecicki and Hugo Swiecicki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Gratia (Cowan) Richman; her in-laws, Robert and Elizabeth (Leemhuis) Kehoe; a son who died in infancy; two nieces, Barbara Wells and Lizbeth (Alexander) Hagler; a nephew, Philip Alexander; and a great niece, Melissa Hagler. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 4PM at Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3-5PM. Donations may be made to any of her favorite charities, including Habitat for Humanity, Doctors without Borders, and Heifer International. Arrangements by Laird Funeral Home.
