 Viola “Vi” Feuerhaken, 95, of Elgin, passed away on June 6, 2019. She was born in Bartlett, IL on May 29, 1924. She was the daughter of Edna and Edward Schick. She was born at home and raised on the family farm on Schick Road. The family moved to Elgin in 1940. She and her husband, Robert C. Feuerhaken, were graduates of Elgin High School in 1942. They were married in September of 1944, when Robert was a flight instructor in the U.S. Air Force. They were married for 63 years. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church. She was also a past member of Ladies of the Elks and Women of the Moose Clubs. She formerly worked as a part time employee of Joseph Spiess Company. Vi and her husband spent their winters in their Naples, Florida home for 30 years. They also enjoyed traveling overseas and spending time with their grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Robert, in 2007.
Surviving are her three children: her son, Keith (Ellen) Feuerhaken of Charlotte, NC; her two daughters: Jan (Gene) Harned of St. Charles, and Dr. Gail Mastio of St. Charles; six grandchildren: Todd (Lisa) Feuerhaken of Missouri, Melissa Myers of North Carolina, Courtney Pahlke, Garrett Pahlke, Robert Mastio and Lauren Mastio; and twin great grandchildren, Nathan and Tyler.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00am at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
