 Jack Pflederer, 79, of St Charles passed away on October 1, 2019 in his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 29, 1940 in Elgin, IL the son of Frederick and Emma (Schmidgall) Pflederer. Jack graduated from Elgin High School in 1958. As starting center and voted MVP by his team, they finished in the Sweet 16. He received a scholarship attending Anderson College in Indiana. He was an electrician in the area for many years prior to his retirement and was a member of IBEW Local 117. He enjoyed traveling the USA, and wintering in Destin, FL. His hobbies included fishing trips, hunting, wood working and carving. Jack loved spending time at Lake Camelot with his family. A unique part of Jack's life was the conservation of the Monarch Butterfly and building caterpillar nurseries. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elgin and Wild Ones Natural Landscaping. Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Jones) Pflederer, who he married on May 16, 1964; his daughter Susan (Lee) Olson; two grandchildren: Katie and Tim Olson; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Lyle, Galen and Fred Pflederer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 5, 2019 at 10:30am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 340 Grand Blvd., Elgin IL with Rev. Carol Book officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, St Charles IL. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin, IL 60120, and on Saturday, at the church, from 9: 30 am until the time of the service.
