 Ray Becerra, 56, passed away April 30, 2020, due to a longtime battle with diabetes. Ray was proud to be a son, brother, uncle and most importantly, proud to be Brittany’s Daddy. Ray loved all music, from Elvis to Kiss, from Iron Maiden to Slipknot, and enjoyed musicals and Ranchera music. Ray never lost his positive attitude toward life, and was determined to enjoy each day as the gift that it was.

Ray is survived by his daughter: Brittany Alisa Becerra; siblings: Phil (Connie), Dan (Laurel), Cecilia G. (John) Rosseljong, Blanca Estela (Albert) Fraga, Gloria B. (Jim) Lopez and Rachel Becerra; parents: Francisco F. Becerra and Juliana G. Becerra; his former wife and best friend: Juanita “Janie” Becerra; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at 10:00am at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin, with Rev. Robert Camacho officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin. Due to today’s environment, a 10 person exchange visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 4:00pm-9:00pm at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. The Mass will be broadcast live on the lairdfamilyfuneralservice facebook live page.
