James Francis Urban, Jr., 62, of Carpentersville, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Jim attended Luther South High School, and also met his future wife there. He was a Master Diver, and taught scuba diving. In his spare time he was a wedding photographer for some major photography studios. He was an avid boyscout, even leading his own troupe, and was inducted to the Order of the Arrows. Later in life, Jim also became certified as a Bare Boat Skipper. He was active and served as an Officer with the Northern Illinois Street rods Association. He showed his 1969 Camaro, which was totally restored-placing 2nd in an event. His car had a 2011 paint job, high in glitter (purple and blue), and depending on the direction of the Sun, it could be seen and either. He loved riding motorcycles, his favorite was a Victory Bike, and was a Victory Club member. He participated in runs like Chicago Toys for Tots, and met Bob Collins, Elizabeth Taylor and Malcolm Forbes. Jim was Victory President for Randy’s Motorcycle Store, and he also participated on happy and sad rides with the Patriot Guard Riders. He loved basset hounds, having a few while growing up. He joined Guardian Angel Basset Rescue of Illinois, with fund raisers for those floppy eared friends. He had 2 to 4 rescue hounds, rescued by Jim, the last basset hound had jim’s wife’s birthday. He supported the Door Co. Humane Society with fund raising, and he rescued a kitten from them. Jim loved computers, and became a Web Master for clubs and T&S K Lassics Car shows.
He is survived by his wife: Maryann Urban.
