Bruce M .Toussaint, born September 28, 1947, in Evanston, IL, died December 22, 2020, at Journey Care, Barrington, surrounded by his family.  He was the son of Monroe A. and Lucille (Wilcox) Toussaint. He lived his entire life in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills, IL.  He was a 1966 graduate of Irving Crown High School, Carpentersville, IL.  He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard 1966-1970. 

He married Barbara M. Polnow November 14, 1970, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake, IL.

 He was a past secretary of the Fox Valley Archery Club, a member of the International  Association of Arson Investigators.  He had many certificates throughout his 46 years of employment with the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Protection Service.  He always said the stores on Randall Road were thanks to him.  

He was a proud man and would help anyone that needed help with water softeners, photography, and computers.  His favorite pastime was bow hunting in the north woods of Wisconsin where he filled the freezer at home.  He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren enjoy meeting their accomplishments.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Diane (Richard) Phillips of Marengo, IL; daughter Dawn (Robert) Romines of Ohio;  son Shawn of Lake in the Hills; ; daughter Kimberly of Woodstock; son Christopher of Lake in the Hills;  sister Beverly  (Ira) Beach of Astoria , NY;  10 grandchildren – Alec, Aaron, Grace, Brenden, Caitlin, Jacob, Jaydon, Annabelle;  step-grandchildren- Ashley, Joyce; step-great grandchild Christopher, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law – Howard Polnow, sisters Betty Toussaint and Barbara Gabler.

Wake services will be at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main Street, Algonquin, IL, 4-8 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.   Viewing  9-9:30 am and  Funeral Mass 10 am at  St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 1023 McHenry Ave., Chrystal Lake, IL. on Wednesday morning.   Burial will be private.  In place of flowers send memorials to Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Protection Service or to the family.
