 Edward Albert Schock, 97, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2021.
To Ed, family was his life. Ed grew up and lived on a farm in Burlington, he married Genevieve Bartelt eventually settling in Elgin, Together they had seven children: Pamela Schultz, Edward “Al”(Karen) Schock, Janice Musial, Karen (Bill) Roloff, Susan (Keith) Kmieciak, Greg Schock and Debbie Brown-Schock, seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, along with nephews, a niece and cousins.

Ed was an active Democrat, enjoyed gardening and worked had as terminal manager for Burren Transfer for over 35 years. He was a diehard baseball and basketball fan, supporting his beloved Yankees, Elgin Maroons and Bradley Braves, often traveling to Peoria to support them. Ed was also active in and supporting Elgin and South Elgin Little League.

Ed and Genevieve we members of the Evangelical Covenant Church, where they both received support, comfort, fellowship and joy over the years.

Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife Genevieve, both his parents, four brothers, a nephew and both a son and daughter-in-law.

There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private with a Celebration of Life at a later dater. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Evangelical Covenant Church, 1565 Larkin Ave., Elgin IL 60123 or a charity of one’s choice.
