Lauri S. Beu, age 60, lifelong Elgin resident, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on April 2, 2021.

Lauri was born to Lawrence and Mary Lofgren on July 18, 1960.

She was a 1978 graduate of Elgin High School, where she played softball, volleyball, and basketball. She made a career at Home Federal Savings & Loan, until she left the workforce in 2007 for her most coveted role as stay-at-home-Mema. Lauri was an avid Chicago Cub fan and thrilled to have seen them win a World Series in her lifetime. She loved being outdoors tending her garden, running, bicycling, and enjoying a cold drink on the back patio. She enjoyed trips to antique shops with her sister, Barb, and had an eye for breathing fresh life into a discarded piece of furniture. She loved a good book and her morning cup of coffee.

Lauri is survived by her mother, Mary Lofgren; loving husband of 34 years, Bruce; daughters, Dayna (Eric) Vargas of Elgin, IL., Kelly (Matthew) Saxon of Austin, TX., and son, Scott (Julie) Beu of St. Charles, IL; two sisters, Barb (Chris) Nissen and Karyn Lofgren (Adam) Shippee; brother-in-law, Gary Beu; and sisters-in-law Carol Beu and Rose Beu; numerous nieces and nephews including her beloved Stefany Nissen; and her seven beautiful grandchildren, Ryan (13), Kayla (11), Cole (11), Mason (7), Annie (6), Amelia (5), and Harper (5).

She is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence (Larry) Lofgren; brother, Gary Lofgren; father-in-law, Raymond Beu; mother-in-law, Ruby Beu; sister-in-law, Bonnie Beu; nephew, Jason Beu; and brother-in-law Richard (Dick) Beu.

A celebration of life will be held at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin on April 7, 2021. Visitation will be from 3pm- 7:30pm, with a private service to follow.
